Day 01 · Spain / Dakar
Arrival in Dakar, the capital on the Cap-Vert peninsula, and accommodation.
Day 02 · Dakar / Gorée Island / Dakar
A panoramic tour of Dakar and its markets. The ferry to Gorée Island and a visit to the House of Slaves, a World Heritage site.
Day 03 · Dakar / Lake Retba / Saint-Louis
On to Lake Retba, the old finish line of the Paris-Dakar rally, and then to Saint-Louis, a colonial town on the Senegal river.
Day 04 · Saint-Louis / Djoudj / Saint-Louis
Djoudj National Park, one of the largest bird reserves in the world. A pirogue trip through the river’s meanders.
Day 05 · Saint-Louis / Lompoul
A horse-and-cart ride through Saint-Louis and on to the Lompoul desert. Accommodation in African-style tents.
Day 06 · Lompoul / Saly
On to Saly, with a stop at the baobab forest.
Day 07 · Saly
A free day on the beach, with optional excursions to the Bandia Reserve or the Shell Island at Joal.
Day 08 · Saly / Dakar / Spain
A free morning and the return flight. Overnight on board.
Day 09 · Spain
Arrival and end of the trip.
