Day 01 · Spain / Reykjavík
Arrival at Keflavík, pick up the car and transfer to your accommodation.
Day 02 · Reykjavík / Borgarfjörður
Whale Fjord, the Þjórsárdalur valley with the Hekla volcano behind it, Reykholt, and the Hraunfossar waterfall, which springs straight out from under a lava field.
Day 03 · Borgarfjörður
The Snæfellsnes peninsula, crowned by the Snæfellsjökull volcano and glacier. Jules Verne began his journey to the centre of the earth here.
Day 04 · Borgarfjörður / Skagafjörður / Dalvík
The valley of the Icelandic horses, which have five gaits instead of three, and the turf farm at Glaumbær.
Day 05 · Dalvík / Akureyri / Laugar
Akureyri, capital of the north, the Goðafoss waterfall and Lake Mývatn, ringed by craters. The whale boats leave from Húsavík.
Day 06 · Laugar / Egilsstaðir
Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe: five hundred cubic metres a second and the ground shaking.
Day 07 · Egilsstaðir / Eastfjords / Vatnajökull
Ten-house fishing villages along the Eastfjords and a first sight of the largest glacier in Europe.
Day 08 · Vatnajökull / Hella
The Jökulsárlón lagoon, with blue icebergs drifting out to sea, Skaftafell National Park and the black sand beaches.
Day 09 · Hella
A free day. We recommend the Dyrhólaey headland and its puffins, between May and August.
Day 10 · Hella / Þingvellir / Reykjavík
Þingvellir, where the American and Eurasian plates pull apart two centimetres a year and where the world’s first parliament met in 930.
Day 11 · Reykjavík / Spain
Free time, a stop at the Blue Lagoon if the flight allows, and home.
