The Andaman islands have a problem and a solution. The problem is that the best-known ones take more boats each day than they can hold. The solution is to go to the ones next door, which have the same limestone cliffs and half the people, and to move at the hours when everyone else does not.

Day 01 · Spain / Bangkok
Flight with one stop.
Day 02 · Bangkok
Arrival and a quiet afternoon. A boat through the Thonburi klongs as the sun goes down.
Day 03 · Bangkok
The Grand Palace first thing and Wat Pho. In the afternoon, Chinatown on foot and dinner from the market.
Day 04 · Khao Sok
Flight south and transfer to the park. This is primary rainforest a hundred and sixty million years old, older than the Amazon.
Day 05 · Cheow Lan Lake
A night in a floating house on the lake, between limestone walls rising straight out of the water. Dawn with mist and gibbons calling.
Day 06 · Khao Sok / Krabi
Down to the coast. The afternoon at Railay, a peninsula reachable only by boat.
Day 07 · Krabi
An early start to the islands, ahead of the group excursions, and back mid-morning as they begin to arrive.
Day 08 · Koh Yao Noi
An island in the middle of Phang Nga bay, with rice fields, fishermen and very little tourism. A bicycle and nothing else.
Day 09 · Koh Yao Noi
A free day, or a long-tail boat out to the small islands around it.
Day 10 · Koh Yao Noi / Phuket
Speedboat transfer and a last night on the west coast.
Day 11 · Phuket / Spain
Flight home with one stop.
Day 12 · Spain
Arrival.
